"Let the magic begin!"
Yesterday morning I woke up checking the Disney College Program Facebook group thinking today would just be another day of waiting........well it was expect some acceptances for the program had gone out. I quietly freaked out all day, checking my email about 398298 times while trying to study for my two exams. Around 4 p.m. I found myself alone in my dorm room thinking that today just wasn't the day. The minute I put my phone down a message from Walt Disney World appeared in my email and my heart sank.
I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!
To get into the program I had to go through two web interviews and then a phone interview and now I was ACTUALLY REALLY SERIOUSLY FINALLY accepted into the program that I had dreamt of doing ever since I found out about it! I was placed in Attractions and will be living/working in Disney World from August 13th to January 4th.
I'll unfortunately be missing all the holidays, including Christmas, with my family that I love so much. I'll also be taking a semester off from "college life" by missing Auburn football season with all my friends and Kappa sisters, but I knew this was the price I would have to pay going into it. I could have applied for the spring January-June program, but I wanted to be in Disney World during the holidays to really get the full experience. Even though I'll be missing all these things, I know that in the end it will totally be worth it because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I'll be able to make friends and connections all over the world and memories that will last a lifetime. I'm going to be thrown into a new job, city and roommates. It will be like starting a new college all over again and I can not wait.

So here officially starts the beginning of my journey!

Congrats! i love disney... so jealous! you get to live there for a few months. That is something to be proud of and you will always cherish DCP memories (from what i understand). If there are 2 things i wish i had done in my undergrad years it would be do the college program and study abroad. I never did either bc i wanted to graduate in exactly 4 years but i sorely regret that decision. One of my best friends did the college program and LOVED it and her sister did it too and then did the internship program.
